Solitary Forest which will be the final painting before we close the studio for a season.
I love this solitary tree, which holds the impact on the stark contrast of the landscape.
Lonely tree, yes it is and the way the world is going. There will be many more lonely trees.
Too many have been cut down in the name of profit in the name of advancement it is foolish and shortsighted.
Trees are our best friends on earth they need to be shown the respect and protection of the world

This painting was from a visit to Masham, which is in Yorkshire where a part of my family lived in the area many,many years ago. I wanted to catch the natural character of the area where you see water tumbling down without any force with rocks and broken trees and the evidence of life. I love the semi darkness that the shadows bring on the water and I think it’s probably one of my favourite, things to look at when deciding what paint hope you like it let me know

Night Lights

My favourite place is to be close to water, namely the sea or ocean as the Sun dies down from the sky. Every night it is different yet it is so precious to see even for an hour.. it is a free show is offered every night all over the world encouraging too because the sun sets every evening the Sun will rise again for a new day.

I love seeing the sky come alive and all its glory. This is from a trip to Rhodes Greece as the sun was hitting the sea. There was so much to see so much emotion in the sky especially near water. I am delighted the way this painting resolve that beauty..
